Sales up 27% for First Quarter 2001, Passing 1000 Mark

Volvo’s latest range streamlined and strengthened
Volvo retail deliveries for the first quarter of 2001 increased by 222 units from 815 to 1037. This represents an increase of 27% over the same period last year. According to Richard Snijders, Volvo Car Australia’s Managing Director, the increase was largely due to the fact that the entire range has been renewed over the last 12 months.
“At the same time, we have simplified and strengthened our product range. In some cases, we have upgraded the specification or introduced higher equipment levels,” said Mr Snijders.
The S40 and V40 2.0 replaces the 1.8 whilst the sub-$40,000 price point remains. The revised S40/V40 range is now the 2.0, the 2.0 SE, the 2.0 T and the T4. The V40 T4 has been deleted.
