Volvo Car Australia Announces 3 Year Unlimited Kilometres Warranty Applicable to 2002 Models Onwards

[Excerpt]

14 January, 2002

Volvo Car Australia is introducing a three year unlimited mileage warranty commencing with 2002 model Volvo cars. Previously, the warranty was two years unlimited kilometres.

Announcing the move, Richard Snijders, Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia, stated that the new warranty would increase Volvo's competitive edge.

"Our decision is a clear indication of our confidence in the quality of our cars. The three year warranty in itself provides added assurance for our buyers but the fact that our warranty includes unlimited kilometres makes our total package even more attractive."

The new 3 year warranty applies from model year 2002, including those already delivered.

The introduction of the three year warranty precedes the National Open Day Weekend being staged by Volvo and the Volvo Dealer Network Friday18, Saturday19 January. In Sydney the promotion will include Sunday 20th.

During the Open Days, participating dealers will be presenting the 3 year warranty, the 2002 model range, the Volvo Ocean Race Cross Country and a new limited edition, the S40 and V40 Sport.

The S40 and V40 Sport are based on 2 litre sedan and wagon variants. Standard equipment (normally optional) include 15" Vogon alloy wheels, rear sports spoiler, black blend dual head lights, front fog lights, metallic paint and woodline interior.

The Sport Limited Edition represents a retail value of $4,580 of factory options for a premium of only $1000. The S40 Sport is $42,950 and the V40 Sport $44,950, automatic transmission only.

Retail prices for all 2002 models remain the same as for 2001 models, as per price list published 1st August.
